Our team at Norm Reeves Cerritos INFINITI wants to help drivers in Long Beach, Torrance, and Fullerton get an idea of what the QX50’s performance, tech features, and interior. This 2019 INFINITI QX50 review is written to do just that. Read on to learn more!

When the 2019 QX50 was unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show, reviewers and car enthusiasts took note of its 2.0L VC-Turbo engine. The QX50 is the first production vehicle in history that has an engine with variable compression. That engine is expected to produce around 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque—and boost estimated fuel efficiency.

All that accelerative power will be balanced out by new Nissan ProPILOT Assist technologies, which can help you control acceleration, steering and braking during single-lane driving. The 2019 QX50 also makes a switch from last model year’s rear-wheel drive to front-wheel drive, for greater traction on the road.

This exciting engine comes paired with the Xtronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This transmission offers direct gear transitions which results in a smooth acceleration and an uninterrupted performance. Another advantage to the CVT is that its gear transitions are more efficient, which helps aid the vehicle’s overall fuel economy.

The previous 2017 INFINITI QX50 offered plenty of luxurious interior features, and there’s no reason to think those won’t be a part of the new model, as well. Available driver-seat memory made it possible to customize ideal positions for multiple drivers, and available power-folding rear seats folded flat to make storage simpler.

The 2019 QX50 makes drastic improvements in terms of storage. Cargo volume is up from 31.6 ft3 in the previous year’s model to 37 ft3, letting you store more items comfortably. With rear seats down, that space grows to 60 ft3, up from 50.1 ft3. That’s room for all your groceries, beach gear, luggage, and more.

As for the passenger comfort, this luxurious crossover offers an expansive 135.8 ft3 for the five passengers that it was designed to carry. The driver and front passenger get 41 inches of headroom, or 40 inches of headroom with the panoramic moonroof, and 39.6 inches of legroom. Second-row passengers get 39.1 inches of headroom or 38.4 inches with the moonroof and 38.7 inches of legroom.

As for the seating materials, the INFINITI QX50 offers leatherette-appointed seating with the driver’s seat equipped with the 8-way power adjuster with lumbar support, as well as the optional driver’s seat memory system, which stores your personal preferences toward seating and mirror positions. Upgrading to the next trim level will include leather appointed seating. However, drivers do have the option of choosing the higher-end Semi Aniline leather seats.

This wouldn’t be a 2019 INFINITI QX50 review without acknowledging the assortment of technology and entertainment features included within the cabin. The vehicle includes the INFINITI InTouch™ Dual Display system. This includes an 8-inch upper screen and a 7-inch lower screen that display your selected audio entertainment, important vehicle information, and the phone contact that you’re chatting with through the Bluetooth® system. You can even utilize the included voice recognition technology to select your media, look up vehicle information, or choose your phone contact.

The 2019 QX50 includes a variety of entertainment options for you to enjoy. There’s the AM/FM radio and the CD player, as well as the media that you can stream through the Bluetooth® system through the 6-speaker sounds system. The crossover even features SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, which adds more than 150 different stations to your entertainment options. The vehicle includes a 6-speaker sound system, but drivers can choose the optional Bose® premium 16-speaker sound system to deliver high-quality audio entertainment.

The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is certainly built to impress. While the performance can certainly provide the necessary “wow factor,” its appearance is also alluring. The vehicle offers a smooth appearance with a cascading cabin and a performance-inspired front fascia with a refined grille. The INFINITI QX50 also offers a variety of exterior colors, ranging from Black Obsidian, Chestnut Bronze, Dynamic Sunstone Red, and plenty more. You can tailor your 2019 QX50 to your personality and style!

The 2019 QX50 is has retained many of the line’s previous active safety features. They include Lane Departure Warning to keep you from drifting, as well as an advanced braking system to detect vehicles in front of you and help apply brakes to prevent oncoming collisions.

Vehicle dynamic control and traction control have also been used in the past to help correct oversteer or understeer and improve wheel grip on the pavement, which can be helpful for driving in the rain on wet roads. Again, we anticipate that the 2019 QX50 will continue to offer these features.
