If you travel often with lots of people, you want to make sure you have the space to accommodate everyone, as well as the features to make them happy. When seeking such an SUV, two options you could look at are the 2019 INFINITI QX60 and the 2019 BMW X5. But to decide which is best for you, you’ll need to learn more about them.

Our team at Norm Reeves Cerritos INFINITI created this INFINITI QX60 vs. BMW X5 comparison to help drivers throughout Long Beach, Torrance, and Fullerton make an informed decision. Read all about these vehicles below, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

The new INFINITI QX60 comes standard with a 3.5L V6 engine that’s paired with an electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission. The vehicle also lets you drive farther for longer, as it achieves an EPA-estimated 20 city/27 highway MPG.*

The new BMW X5, in comparison, comes standard with a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo V6 engine that’s mated to an 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission. The vehicle achieves an EPA-estimated 20 city/26 highway MPG, which may not seem like a huge difference, but you may find yourself stopping at the gas station to refuel more frequently.

The QX60 comes standard with three rows of seats and can fit seven, which is helpful if you regularly transport lots of people at once. The X5, on the other hand, normally has two rows for five people, but an additional third row can be added. Unfortunately, many believe that the third row in the BMW vehicle is too small, even for children.

Overall, there’s plenty of room for all to stretch out in the INFINITI model. It offers 42.2 inches of front legroom, 41.7 inches of second-row legroom, and 30.8 inches of third-row legroom. The 2019 X5 comes standard with just 39.8 inches of front legroom and 37.4 inches of rear legroom.

And, when it comes to space for your grocery bags, luggage, or other items, the 2019 QX60 offers 40.5 ft3 of cargo room when the third row is folded down. The 2019 BMW X5, however, has just 33.9 ft3 of space behind its second row.

Each SUV comes with cutting-edge tech to make your drives more enjoyable. They both come with Bluetooth® capability to stream audio and make hands-free phone calls.

The INFINITI QX60 also comes standard with a trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, which offers over 100 channels of commercial-free music, along with sports, news, comedy, and more. In addition, it has a 4-year trial to SiriusXM Travel Link®, giving you access to weather, fuel prices, movie times, and more.

Although the X5 has SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, it doesn’t come standard. It also doesn’t have the Travel Link feature in any of its trims.

The 2019 QX60 additionally comes standard with a 6-speaker audio system that has speed sensitive volume control. With this feature, the volume of your music will go up the faster you drive. This way, you can hear more of your favorite tunes and less of the outside wind noise. While the sound system in the 2019 X5 is impressive, it doesn’t come with speed-sensitive volume control.
