INFINITI Q50 Performance

What is the MPG Like in the Q50?

Great question! As there are two different types of the Q50, Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive, they have slightly different outputs. In the Front Wheel Drive models except the Red Sport 400 trim, the INFINITI Q50 gets an EPA-estimated 20 city/29 highway MPG.* The Red Sport 400 trim gets an EPA-estimated 20 city/26 highway MPG.*

In the All-Wheel Drive models except for the Red Sport 400, drivers will get an EPA-estimated 19 city/27 highway MPG.* The Red Sport 400 gets 19 city/26 highway MPG.*

What Type of Engine Does the Q50 Have?

To get great gas mileage, you need a great engine to go with it. The Q50, when fully equipped, has this in the form of a 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo engine that generates an outstanding 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Some of the earlier trims feature the same engine but it generates 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

INFINITI Q50 Driver Assist

Intuitive Driver Technology

The INFINITI Q50 has intuitive driver technology that can impact MPG. The available All-Wheel Drive can automatically adapt to different road conditions. The system will divert power to the appropriate wheels to improve traction. When power doesn’t need to be split, 100 percent of the power will be diverted to the rear wheels.

Drive Mode Selector offers multiple ways to drive and can be customized to your driving style.

What Can I Do to Preserve MPG While I Drive?

There are tons of things you can do to get the most out of a single tank of gas in the INFINITI Q50. Driving the speed limit, or just below it, is considered driving at safe speeds, which helps preserve fuel because it puts less stress on your engine. The harder the engine has to work, the less fuel you can conserve.

Making sure your INFINITI periodically receives routine maintenance like oil changes can also ensure you get the most out of your MPG. When you get an oil change, you’re replacing old, dirty engine oil with new, clean oil, which goes hand in hand with the car’s on-road performance.

We would also recommend driving with the windows up when you’re on a road with a higher speed limit, like a boulevard or freeway. Having the windows rolled down can create drag, which puts stress on your engine. If you want to have air flow going while you drive on a major roadway, you’d be better served having the air conditioning/heat on.
