2018 INFINITI Q50 REVIEW

The 2018 INFINITI Q50 was first sighted at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, wearing its first round of outer shell updates since its launch in 2014, and having a brand-new driver-assistance technology bundle.

The Q50 is one fierce sports sedan, whose engaging performance and luxury cabin have rocketed it to the top of many car seekers’ lists in a matter of just a few years. Get a full review of the 2018 INFINITI Q50 below, and for any questions in the meantime, our team will be happy to help.

2018 INFINITI Q50 REDESIGN

Ready to turn heads driving around Long Beach, Torrance, and Fullerton? Changes to the 2018 INFINITI Q50’s exterior aren’t necessarily dramatic, but the statement they make on the road definitely is.

You’ll still recognize the Q50’s characteristic sculpted profile and eye-catching grille and headlights, but a few tweaks elevate them for a more pronounced look.

New enhancements to the Q50 grille give it a more structured, 3D appeal, while wider headlights, more angling to the front bumper, and revised tail lamp graphics are subtle changes that add up.

FAMILIAR PERFORMANCE, REVISED TRIMS

With familiar turbocharged and twin-turbocharged engines at play, stationed behind the INFINITI Q50’s updated steering wheel is an exhilarating place to be.

Let’s look at some of the 2018 Q50’s available powertrain specs:

  • Horsepower range of 208 (base) to 400 (Red Sport 400)
  • 7-speed automatic transmission with Drive Mode selector
  • Starting EPA estimates of 23/31 city/highway MPG
  • Rear-wheel drive standard, and hybrid model available

While the Q50’s under-the-hood equipment remains the same, the base trim is now called Pure, and the Premium trim goes by Luxe. Just like the 2017 INFINITI Q50 model, the top Sport and Red Sport 400 trims carry over for 2018.

PROPILOT ASSIST TECHNOLOGY DEBUTS ON THE 2018 Q50

Another exciting update to the INFINITI Q50 comes in the form of the brand’s newest label of driver support technology. The 2018 Q50 will be the first INFINITI model to offer the ProPilot Assist suite, a superior package of preventative safety features, including advanced technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control and Backup Collision Intervention.

ProPilot also features Direct Adaptive Steering, or DAS, an INFINITI-exclusive steer-by-wire system that provides more control from less input, for impressive, pinpointed steering that accentuates the Q50’s already sharp handling.
